Governor Michael Dukakis recently attended an Alliance meeting at the Restaurant 45. Democrats from several nearby towns and cities enjoyed meeting the Governor, and learning more about his ideas.

Deval Patrick was in Medway on Saturday, March 13 to canvas for nomination signatures. The weather kept us from canvassing but everyone appreciated meeting, talking, and listening to the Governor - we're very lucky he's on our side!

2009 Medway Pride Day was a success! Thank you to everyone who supported us by buying our "diet" sausage subs and soft drinks, and thanks to all the MDTC members who volunteered. Karen Spilka, State Senator, stopped by with her staff member, Michelle, and helped!

Shown is the grill with the expert chefs Ricky, Angelo and Linda, and with the grill supervisor, Ashley.
The Ashland Democratic Town Committee recently sponsored a Renewable Energy Presentation (and kindly allowed Medway residents to attend). The IBEW Local 103 and the Mass Technology Collaborative offered some interesting information about big projects and residential projects. Medway does not seem to be windy enough for wind power, but solar energy is another story. There has never been a better time to add solar panels to your home. Mass Tech Collaborative offers rebates, and there are substantial federal tax credits available. This helpful website also has online information and aids to step you through the process - from analysis to rebate. In addition, the new state Green Committees Act means that any unused solar power generated can be sold back to the electric company at market rates (net metering). Homeowners no longer need to have that added burden of storing and maintaining batteries. Plus, there are Massachusetts companies producing panels, so one can also buy local!
Jim McGovern spoke at the Ashland Inaugural Celebration. Read the article from Milford Daily News - and if you go online, you'll see a photo of Rafaela with Jim.
